Qatar Commits US$2 Billion Investment into Indonesia’s Danantara Fund

Jakarta, VIVA – Qatar has officially committed to investing US$2 billion, or approximately IDR 33 trillion, into a joint fund named Danantara, a collaboration between Indonesia and Qatar.
This large investment will not be used indiscriminately. The primary focus of the fund will be to support the development of Indonesia’s national strategic projects.
The good news was shared directly by President Prabowo following his attendance at the CEO Forum in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday (Apr 13).
The event was initiated by the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Anindya Bakrie.
"I believe the meeting was very good and productive. We agreed to enhance cooperation. They will invest through Danantara, a joint fund. They committed US$2 billion," the head of state on Tuesday (Apr 15).

This investment is a tangible result of Indonesia’s ongoing economic diplomacy efforts in recent times.
The Minister of Housing and Public Settlements, Maruarar Sirait, who accompanied the President during his visit to Qatar, also confirmed the investment amount.
He explained that the President views this commitment as a positive response from Qatar and a testament to the strong ties between the two countries, particularly in the fields of economy and development.
"I think it’s great. This is a follow-up, and they are very enthusiastic," he said.
During his visit to Qatar, President Prabowo Subianto was accompanied by several high-ranking state officials who play key roles in strengthening bilateral relations, especially in economic affairs.
