Indonesia and Qatar Launch Joint Fund Worth IDR 32 Trillion

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, announced a commitment from Qatar to invest approximately $2 billion or around IDR 32 trillion in Danantara, a joint fund between Indonesia and Qatar.
The joint fund is expected to focus on supporting development initiatives and strategic projects.
“I think the meeting was very good and productive. We agreed to enhance cooperation. Qatar will invest in Danantara, a joint fund. They have committed around IDR 32 trillion,” said the head of state after attending the CEO Forum in Doha, Qatar, initiated by the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, on Sunday (Apr 13).

Minister of Public Housing and Settlements, Maruarar Sirait, who accompanied President Prabowo during the meeting, confirmed the investment figure.
According to minister Sirait, President Prabowo emphasized that this commitment is a follow-up to Indonesia’s economic diplomacy efforts and serves as a positive signal of the growing cooperation with Qatar.
“I think it’s great. This is a continuation, and Qatar is very enthusiastic,” he said.
Other officials accompanying President Prabowo on the visit included Foreign Minister Sugiono, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Indonesian Ambassador to Qatar Ridwan Hassan.
