Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar emphasized the importance of readiness for individuals choosing to migrate to the capital.

“We certainly hope that anyone coming to Jakarta is well-prepared. Do not just move here without the ability to be more innovative,” the minister said on Monday (March 31).

Therefore, having skills and innovation is crucial for those seeking opportunities in the capital.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of Indonesia, Sultan Baktiar Najamudin, also highlighted the annual post-Eid urban migration phenomenon.

According to him, the movement of people from villages to cities is natural, but it must be accompanied by proper preparation.

“The most important point is that we are grateful that this year’s Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr were well-managed, with controlled homecoming traffic. Socially, it is normal for people to seek better opportunities in the capital,” he said.

However, he reminded returning or newly arrived residents in Jakarta to be responsible citizens and adapt to their new environment.

The government was also urged to strengthen policies aimed at reducing unemployment, especially in major cities.
