Jakarta, VIVA – KAI Logistics, a subsidiary of Indonesian Railways (KAI), is taking part in the 2025 Eid homecoming (mudik) season by offering a special pet transportation service.

This service is part of KALOG Express, one of its flagship logistics solutions.
Dwi Wulandari, Vice President (VP) of Corporate Secretary at KAI Logistics, revealed that a survey of over 2,400 Indonesians found that more than 80% of households have pets.

"This data highlights that pets have become an integral part of people's lifestyles," Wulandari stated on Wednesday (March 26).

During the homecoming season, many pet owners face the dilemma of leaving their pets behind. To address this, KAI Logistics is providing a solution, allowing customers to bring their pets along on their journey.

"KAI Logistics offers an option for pet owners to travel with their pets to their hometowns through our pet transportation service," she explained.

During the Eid holiday season, many people opt to leave their pets at pet boarding facilities or hotels, where daily rates vary depending on the amenities provided.

Prices typically range from IDR 25,000 to several hundred thousand rupiah per day.

However, a significant number of pet owners prefer to take their pets with them rather than leave them behind.

For those traveling by public transport, pet shipping services have become a reliable alternative, ensuring their pets are well taken care of during the journey.

"Our KALOG Express pet shipping service follows strict procedures to ensure safety and security throughout the journey. Trained personnel inside the carriage will conduct routine checks on the animals to monitor their condition," Wulandari assured.

To use the KALOG Express pet transportation service, customers must comply with the following requirements:

• Use a pet cargo carrier appropriate for the pet’s size
• Provide sufficient food and water for the journey
• Ensure the pet is in good health before travel
• Secure the pet cargo carrier with extra safety measures, such as cable ties

KALOG Express offers affordable pet shipping rates, starting at IDR 100,000 for the first 10 kg, with additional charges per kilogram based on the destination.

"As part of our commitment to enhancing services during the Eid homecoming season, KAI Logistics is offering up to 40% discounts on pet shipping for both departure and return trips," Wulandari announced.

"This promotion is available at 67 service points and covers major destinations along the southern rail network, including Bandung, Yogyakarta, Solo, Jombang, Kebumen, Klaten, Kroya, Kutoarjo, Madiun, and Surabaya. The delivery time is guaranteed to be within 24 hours," she added.

Customers can track their shipments in real-time through the KAI Logistics TRAX app, the KAI Logistics website (kalogistics.co.id), or the Access by KAI app to monitor the location and status of their pets during transit.
