The toll road will be operational from March 24 to March 31, 2025, for vehicles traveling from Balikpapan to Penajam Paser Utara. From April 1 to April 7, 2025, it will be open for the return route from Penajam Paser Utara to Balikpapan.

The sections of the Nusantara Toll Road that will be in use for the Eid holiday period include Sections 3A, 3B, 5A, and the Pulau Balang Bridge, which connects Balikpapan with Penajam Paser Utara.

According to Kamaluddin, the toll road will be operational from March 24 to April 7, 2025, with operating hours set from 6:00 AM to 6 PM  (Central Indonesia Time).

"The toll road will be open in one direction for Class 1 vehicles such as sedans, jeeps, and minibusses, with a maximum speed limit of 60 km/h," he stated.

Before the decision to open the Nusantara Toll Road for public use, a thorough assessment was conducted to ensure its feasibility as an alternative route for the Eid homecoming and return traffic in 2025.

The assessment involved officials from the Regional Traffic Directorate of the Police, the Public Works Department, the Transportation Department, and the Land Transport Management Center Class II of East Kalimantan Province.

The findings of this assessment were officially documented in a report issued by the Ministry of Public Works' Directorate General of Highways, East Kalimantan BBPJN, under Report Number 734/BA/Bb 12/2025.

The report confirmed the functional feasibility of the Nusantara Toll Road's Sections 3A, 3B, 5A, and the Pulau Balang Bridge for use during the Eid 2025 travel period.
