The collaboration between Kadin and BPJPH includes efforts in awareness campaigns, education, and promotion of halal product assurance, as well as supporting programs that facilitate halal certification for businesses under Kadin Jakarta’s guidance.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPJPH, Ahmad Haikal Hasan, described the MoU as a historic milestone for both parties.

“For us, this is a historic moment—the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Halal Agency and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, initiated in Jakarta with the approval of Kadin’s central leadership,” he remarked.

Hasan further explained that out of 64 million micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia, only 6 million have obtained halal certification so far.

“The Halal Agency is currently striving to meet the certification targets. So far, we’ve only reached 3 percent of the total businesses that need halal certification,” Hasan stated.

The MoU was signed by Ahmad Haikal Hasan, Head of BPJPH, and Diana Dewi, Chairwoman of Kadin Jakarta.
