Minister Urges Employers to Speed Up Holiday Allowance Payments

Jakarta, VIVA – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, has urged employers to speed up the payment of the Holiday Allowance (THR).
He also reminded them that the latest deadline for payment is H-7 before Eid al-Fitr.
This aligns with the government's regulation stating that THR for private-sector workers must be disbursed no later than H-7 before Eid al-Fitr, as stipulated in the Circular Letter (SE) of the Minister of Manpower No. M/2/HK.04.00/III/2025.
"Kadin consists of economic players, so it is expected that, first, THR should be paid during this Ramadan month," Minister Hartarto said on Friday (March 14).

He added, "If possible, the THR payment should be made even earlier than the government's stipulated deadline."
Minister Hartarto emphasized that business owners must maintain their competitive edge to survive amid the current global uncertainty.
The ultimate goal is to ensure that businesses continue to operate, preserving jobs and preventing mass layoffs.
The minister stated, "Second, safeguard employment. Third, maintain competitiveness."
If businesses can sustain themselves while keeping their workforce intact, Minister Hartarto even challenged national entrepreneurs to expand their operations to create even more job opportunities.
"Fourth, pursue expansion, especially in sectors that can increase employment, generate new jobs, and ultimately sustain the ecosystem," he concluded.
