Pertamina Aims to Cut Import Reliance by Maximizing Local Crude
- Pertamina
Jakarta, VIVA – Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri has emphasized that the company will increase the use of local crude oil to reduce reliance on imports.
“In an effort to improve crude oil governance, Pertamina will collaborate with external parties, particularly BPH Migas,” Aloysius said on Tuesday (March 4).
He acknowledged that this reform would cover technical aspects as well as human resource management, all within the framework of enhancing governance systems to optimize operations across all sectors.
"By utilizing more domestically produced crude oil, we can reduce dependence on foreign sources and strengthen national energy resilience," he remarked.

Aloysius also stressed that Pertamina will continue to conduct transparent evaluations to minimize the risk of operational irregularities. This will help close loopholes that could hinder the effectiveness of energy distribution.
"We aim to ensure a better and more accountable system for all stakeholders," he added.
He assured that operations and services to the public would remain a top priority as the company works to improve its governance.
Moreover, in preparation for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, Pertamina will maintain close coordination with various parties to ensure smooth energy distribution and support the homecoming travel period.
“We will make sure that energy supplies remain secure, both for daily public needs and to facilitate smooth travel during the holiday season,” Aloysius concluded.
