Jakarta, VIVA – Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Doni P. Joewono, officially launched the series of Rupiah exchange activities for the Ramadan and Eid period on Monday (March 3). The cash exchange service will be available until March 27, 2025.
"BI, in collaboration with banks, is providing Rupiah exchange services across Indonesia. Bank Indonesia has prepared IDR 180.9 trillion in fit-for-circulation banknotes to meet public demand during Ramadan and Eid," Joewono stated on Monday (March 3).
He also emphasized that, aside from physical cash, people can take advantage of digital payment developments, including mobile and internet banking, as well as QRIS for various transactions.
This year’s cash exchange initiative is part of the Semarak Rupiah Ramadan and Berkah Idulfitri (SERAMBI) 2025 program, themed "Preserving Rupiah in the Blessed Month."
This reflects Bank Indonesia’s commitment to ensuring the availability of Rupiah during Ramadan and Eid.
Joewono highlighted that BI continuously strives to improve the quality of the SERAMBI program each year.
In 2025, the cash exchange service has been enhanced with the Exchange and Withdrawal of Rupiah (PINTAR) application, which allows people to access exchange services at bank counters more efficiently.

The PINTAR app is expected to improve service reliability, reduce long queues at exchange points, and provide a more comfortable experience for the public.
Additionally, it will enhance efficiency by ensuring a more even and direct distribution of cash to those who need it.
Joewono also expressed appreciation for the support and collaboration of banks, the Association of Rupiah Cash Management Companies (PJPUR), and all Bank Indonesia partners involved in the SERAMBI 2025 initiative.
This synergy is essential to ensure smooth, targeted, and efficient cash distribution for the public.
Rupiah exchange services will be available at strategic locations such as places of worship, religious activity centers, and commercial bank offices.
The exchange services—whether through mobile cash units, integrated exchange centers, or bank branches—will be facilitated through the PINTAR application starting March 3, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. local time via https://pintar.bi.go.id.
People can access the app to book an appointment based on their preferred schedule and location.
