In previous years, entertainment venues such as billiards halls, PlayStation rental shops, and karaoke lounges were prohibited from operating during the daytime.

This year, however, the Banda Aceh government will no longer enforce such restrictions, allowing these entertainment venues to remain open during the day throughout Ramadan.

Banda Aceh government spokesperson Tomi Mukhtar stated that the updated advisory aims to provide a more effective and relevant solution in line with current conditions.

"After considering various inputs and conducting an evaluation, we felt the need to adjust this advisory to make it more targeted," Mukhtar said on Thursday (Feb 27).

With this revision, the city government hopes that individuals and community groups will find it easier and more effective to follow the guidelines.

"Some previous regulations were too rigid, so we have updated them to be more practical in their implementation," he added.

However, other rules agreed upon by the local Forkopimda remain unchanged, including the prohibition on food stalls operating between Imsak (pre-dawn meal) and 4:30 p.m. local time.

To ensure the effective enforcement of this joint advisory, authorities, including Municipal Agency (Satpol PP), and WH, will conduct monitoring, supported by the TNI (Indonesian Armed Forces) and the police.

All parties are expected to maintain order and uphold a peaceful atmosphere throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

The Banda Aceh Forkopimda has also urged non-Muslim residents to respect the fasting observance as part of ongoing efforts to foster religious tolerance and harmony within the community.
