"I assure you that we will not wait until March 3. It will be completed soon, but I can't disclose the timeline regarding the agreement between all parties," he stated.

The extradition process for Paulus Tannos needs to be done. He mentioned that the process of completing the extradition documents for Paulus Tannos will be finished before the 45-day deadline.

Minister Agtas also mentioned that Paulus Tannos will first undergo a trial in Singapore. Therefore, the Indonesian government is moving quickly to finalize the extradition documents.

"But I emphasize that after 45 days, the process will proceed in the Singapore court. We are waiting for the documents to be complete," the minister remarked.

"Regarding the trial process, of course, we cannot intervene because after the first court ruling in Singapore, there will still be an appeal process," he added.

The extradition process of Paulus Tannos is Indonesia's first such case. This is because the extradition agreement with Singapore was only signed in 2022.

"But specifically with Singapore, this is the first experience after we signed the extradition agreement in 2022, which we ratified in 2023," he said.

The minister continued, "Indonesia's experience in extraditing individuals involved in domestic cases has only been with 4 people. However, we have been requested by friendly countries to extradite their nationals, and we have done it 20 times."

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) succeeded in capturing the fugitive suspect in the electronic ID card (e-KTP) corruption case, Paulus Tannos. He was arrested in Singapore.

"He is still in Singapore," said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto on Friday, January 24, 2025.

Rohcahyanto explained that KPK is still processing several steps in Singapore. Several requirements need to be fulfilled before Paulus Tannos' extradition can take place.

"KPK is coordinating and completing the requirements to extradite him," he revealed.

It is known that Paulus Tannos has been a fugitive for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) since 2019. He was even reported to be in Thailand at one point.

However, Paulus Tannos has since changed his nationality and identity in another country. He now goes by the name Thian Po Tjhin.
