Mazda Enters the PHEV Market in Indonesia with the CX-80

Jakarta, VIVA – Japanese automaker Mazda has officially launched the CX-80, featuring Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) technology for the first time in the Indonesian market.
Ricky Thio, COO of Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI), the official distributor of Mazda in the country, stated that the CX-80 is a premium flagship SUV in its segment.
“We're so proud to present this premium flagship SUV with a 6-seater configuration equipped with PHEV technology. The Mazda CX-80 sets a new standard in the Mazda SUV category, meeting the needs and exceeding the expectations of users, both in Indonesia and globally,” he said during the CX-80 launch at the Mazda Headquarter in Jakarta.
The latest Mazda SUV comes in two variants, the Elite and Kuro editions. Each offers unique designs and features, providing consumers with a variety of options to suit their needs.
Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with a 12.3-inch head unit display, serving as the central control for vehicle functions and entertainment through the Mazda Connect system.

This feature allows smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the car is equipped with premium Bose audio.
The Mazda CX-80 is powered by a 2,500 cc 4-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor.
The gasoline engine delivers 191 PS and 261 Nm of torque, while the electric motor generates 175 PS and 270 Nm of torque. Together, this hybrid system produces a total output of 327 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
The PHEV battery has a capacity of 17.8 kWh, enabling the car to travel up to 60 km on electric mode with a full charge.
As for pricing, both the Elite and Kuro variants are priced at IDR 1,199,900,000 (On-The-Road Jakarta).
