Jakarta, VIVA – The Jakarta Provincial Government organized a Christmas celebration for civil servants (ASN), Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), and the Jakarta Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) at the Ecovention Hall, Ancol, North Jakarta, on this Friday, 17th January 2025.
Marulina Dewi, Chairperson of the Christmas committee and Head of Cooperation for the Jakarta Provincial Government, revealed that the event was attended by approximately 6,000 ASNs.
“The ASNs come from various fields, including teachers, nurses, doctors, and employees across departments, bureaus, and agencies serving Jakarta. This celebration was also joined by families from BUMD and DPRD Jakarta,” she explained.
The theme for this year's Christmas, as set by the Indonesian Bishops' Conference (KWI) and the Communion of Churches in Indonesia (PGI), was "Let Us Now Go to Bethlehem," with the sub-theme "The Identity of Indonesia in Realizing a Global Jakarta." Dewi emphasized the importance of this theme, which reflects the values of love and unity in Jakarta's diverse community.
“The aim is to inspire participants to implement these Christmas values in their daily lives in Jakarta, both in their service and dedication to society,” Dewi noted.
She also encouraged ASNs to embrace the Christmas spirit as a foundation to become high-quality, loyal, honest, and disciplined public servants.
Acting Governor of Jakarta, Teguh Setyabudi, in his remarks, expressed his hope for ASNs to uphold harmony and unity, supporting a progressive, inclusive, and equitable Jakarta.
“As Acting Governor, I hope ASNs can bring happiness to all residents of Jakarta, regardless of their background. We all want happiness in Jakarta,” he said.
Teguh also urged the optimization of religious and spiritual programs to foster harmony among religious communities. “ASNs should synergize with stakeholders and communities to embody compassion and maintain unity for our development efforts,” he added.
“May the Christmas spirit ignite our passion to provide optimal service for Jakarta, a city that mirrors Indonesia's rich diversity,” Teguh concluded.
