He also reminded Indonesians to be grateful for the nation's peace and security, which has been maintained to this day.

"What we witness today, the state of the world, teaches us to stay alert and to be thankful. We must be grateful that our country is not being bombed today, that Istiqlal Mosque still stands, that Muhammadiyah University remains intact, and that our factories are not destroyed," he said in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on Wednesday (Dec 4).

Prabowo expressed his concern over the situation in Gaza, where thousands of children have lost their lives due to Israeli military attacks. He also highlighted the plight of Lebanese citizens who have been displaced by Zionist aggression.

"Look at what is happening in almost every country, especially Muslim nations. Look at Gaza, at the innocent children. The latest estimate is 5,000 children under one year old have died, buried under rubble, with thousands more unaccounted for, not to mention older children, parents, and mothers. In Lebanon, millions have been displaced and lost their homes," the head of state explained.

In addition to the Israel-Palestine conflict, Prabowo also drew attention to the war between Russia and Ukraine. He noted that the conflict in Europe has caused food prices to rise globally.

"Ukraine is far away, but the war there has caused food prices to increase worldwide. Gaza may be far too, but those are our brothers and sisters," he remarked.

President Prabowo urged all citizens to remain vigilant about the threat of war and cautioned them against becoming complacent in times of peace.

He emphasized that Indonesia, being a wealthy nation, has historically been a target of colonization by European countries.

"What point am I trying to convey? Let us not take peace for granted or assume that we face no threats. Why must we stay alert? Because we are rich. It wasn’t us who went to the Netherlands, but the Dutch who came to us—along with the Portuguese, Spanish, French, and British, from the past to the present," he concluded
