Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has provided an opportunity for detainees held in the KPK detention center in Jakarta to vote in the 2024 Regional Elections (Pilkada) on Wednesday (Nov 27).
Officials from the nearest polling station assisted with the voting process, as the KPK did not provide a designated polling station for detainees in its detention center.
"Regarding voting in the detention center, the KPK did not open its own polling station. However, officials from the nearest polling station will come to the detention center to facilitate the detainees' voting," said KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika on Tuesday (Nov 26).
Mahardhika emphasized that detainees still have the right to vote in the 2024 Regional Elections.
As information, the simultaneous 2024 regional elections will be held on Wednesday (Nov 27).
This election is historic, as it marks the first time that regional elections are conducted simultaneously across Indonesia.
