Jakarta, VIVA – The owner of Oxford United, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, expressed his appreciation for the Indonesian national football team’s victory over Saudi Arabia.
Indonesia won 2-0 in a match held at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta, on Tuesday (Nov 19).
In this match, Marselino Ferdinan scored both goals in the 32nd and 57th minutes.
Marselino signed a two-year contract with Oxford United on August 19, 2024. Anindya Bakrie and Erick Thohir played significant roles in bringing the 20-year-old player to The U's.
Anindya Bakrie expressed immense pride in the achievements of the Indonesian national team, especially as both goals were scored by Marselino.
"Thrilled and proud of our national team’s performance. Especially since the two goals were scored by Marselino, who is a player at the club owned by Mr. @erickthohir and me at @oufcofficial," Anindya Bakrie wrote on Instagram.
"We clearly made the right choice by giving an Indonesian player the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience at Oxford United. Hopefully, more Indonesian players will have similar opportunities in the future," he added.
Anindya Bakrie hopes that Marselino will not stop here. He supports Marselino to continue showcasing excellent performances both with the Indonesian national team and Oxford United.
"Good job, Marselino. Keep demonstrating your best achievement both with the national team and our beloved club. Let’s continue supporting the Indonesian national team and efforts to advance Indonesian football," he praised.
