Minister: Toba Aquabike Event Attracting More Global Events

North Sumatra, VIVA – Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo stated that the Aquabike Jetski World Championship at Lake Toba, North Sumatra, is increasingly popular among international athletes due to the successful organization of the event.
He expressed his appreciation for the success and emphasized the importance of continuing to develop Lake Toba's tourism sector.
"The series of the Aquabike Jetski World Championship 2024, which concluded in Samosir Regency, has been completed. I'm very pleased with the development of the Aquabike championship and the growth of the Lake Toba area itself," Minister Ariotedjo stated on Sunday (Nov 17).
He stated that the significant improvements in the Lake Toba area, marked by the increasing number of hotels and supporting facilities being built.
"This international championship event is becoming more popular, as seen by the rise in the number of participants from various countries compared to previous years," he remarked.
He mentioned that the fifth day of the Aquabike Jetski World Championship 2024 was the most anticipated, as it was the final round for five main categories: Ski Ladies GP1, Ski GP1, Runabout GP1, Freestyle, and Parallel Slalom.
This year's jet ski race at Lake Toba involved 80 racers from 30 countries. Dito assessed that the growing number of participants shows the success and popularity of the Aquabike Jetski World Championship at Lake Toba.
