Jakarta, VIVA – Eurokars Motor Indonesia (EMI), the distributor for Mazda in Indonesia, has officially released its first electric vehicle, the MX-30.
Ricky Thio, COO of EMI, stated that the MX-30 was designed to unify driving pleasure with the essence of driver connection.
“The MX-30 is a remarkable creation, Mazda’s first electric vehicle. It embodies our idealism in revolutionizing electric vehicles, which should not sacrifice driving pleasure or the essence of the driving experience,” he said at the Mazda Headquarter in Jakarta.
The design of the MX-30 maintains the "Jinba-Ittai" philosophy, which unites the driver with the vehicle. The car is also crafted with the signature minimalistic style of Kodo Design.
At the front and rear, the Mazda MX-30 features a minimalist look with sculpted headlight designs, adding vitality to its sturdy exterior.
The car comes equipped with a variety of attractive features, including freestyle doors, which provide passengers with easy access when getting in and out of the vehicle.
Inside, the Mazda MX-30 incorporates cork materials that help reduce carbon emissions in the material's harvesting process. The cork layer is applied to enhance the aesthetic while ensuring its durability for use within the vehicle.
The choice of cork material ties back to Mazda’s history, which began in 1920 as Toyo Cork Kogyo, a cork manufacturing company.
Mazda also uses Breathing Fabric, a material made from recycled plastic bottles, designed specifically for the upper door trim of the Mazda MX-30 as a commitment to sustainability.
Additionally, the MX-30 uses 20 percent recycled threads for its seat upholstery.
Mazda's first electric car in Indonesia features a 35.5 kWh battery, which offers a range of up to 200 km (WLTP standard).
With the e-SKYACTIV system, the car produces 107 kW (145 PS) of power and 271 Nm of torque, and includes a fast-charging CCS2 port with a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery.
The MX-30 is also equipped with e-GVC technology to ensure driving stability by automatically adjusting torque, especially when cornering.
Safety features under the i-Activesense suite include Smart Brake Support (SBS), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Adaptive LED Headlights (ALH), and many more.
The Mazda MX-30 is priced from IDR 860 million on the road in Jakarta. For consumers who opt for premium colors, such as Soul Red Crystal and Polymetal Grey, an additional IDR 4 million fee applies.
With this price, consumers will also receive a five-year warranty, five years of service or up to 100,000 km, and an eight-year battery warranty or up to 160,000 km.
