Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, expressed that Indonesia must be able to produce its own high-tech goods, such as cars, motorcycles, and computers.
The president made this statement while addressing the 2024 National Coordination Meeting for Central and Regional Governments, themed “Implementing Asta Cita Toward Indonesia 2024,” held at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) in Bogor, West Java, on Thursday (Nov 7).
According to the head of state, Indonesia is the world’s fourth most populous country and possesses abundant natural resources that few other nations have.
For this reason, President Prabowo voiced dissatisfaction that Indonesia, with all its potential, has not yet achieved self-sufficiency in producing its own cars, motorcycles, and computers.
“I cannot accept that a nation with the world’s fourth largest population, blessed with such vast natural wealth by the Almighty, and given every element to become an advanced country, still cannot produce its own cars, motorcycles, or computers. I cannot accept this,” President Prabowo stated.
Since taking on the mandate to lead the country, President Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the people and his strong determination to advance Indonesia.
“I'm grateful and thankful for the opportunity to lead Indonesia for the next five years. I feel fortunate to have this chance to guide and achieve what I consider critical for the future of the Indonesian nation,” he concluded.
