Jakarta, VIVA – President Prabowo Subianto has given the Ministers of the "Red and White Cabinet" the authority to take strict action against officials in ministries who hinder public services.
“I ask the ministers now to be more courageous, not hesitant in providing the best service for our people. If you're not satisfied with the officials under you, report them, and we will replace them immediately. There are so many people willing to serve,” the President said in Jakarta on Wednesday (Oct 23).
The head of state emphasized that officials in ministries or agencies who are not compliant and do not work hard for the nation must be given stern warnings.
“Those who are not compliant, not working hard for the nation, the state, and the people, I give you the authority to remove them and send them home rather than make things difficult for us," President Prabowo remarked.
According to him, everyone must honestly admit that bureaucracy in Indonesia is notoriously complicated and slow.
In fact, it has become common for people to talk about how government bureaucracy often complicates, rather than facilitates, the needs of the people.
“There are even those who say, 'If it can be made difficult, why make it easy?' Let's be honest in admitting that our bureaucracy is very well-known, very well-known for being complicated, very well-known for being slow,” he stated.
Therefore, Prabowo Subianto will strengthen the Presidential Chief of Staff under the leadership of AM Putranto.
In addition, a new Agency for Development Control and Special Investigations will be established to monitor all programs and projects to be launched.
