Bakrie: Prabowo's Cabinet Reflects Indonesian Commitment to Sustainability

Jakarta, VIVA – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie, has shared his point of view on the newly-formed administration under President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

He said that the new cabinet as offering significant opportunities for the business sector and the broader economic growth of Indonesia.

According to him, there' s a key factor that fuel the business community's optimism regarding this new government.

“The stability in key position, which indicates continuity,” he said on Wednesday (Oct 23).

Bakrie also expressed confidence in President Prabowo Subianto’s target of 8 percent economic growth.

The Kadin chairman praised the newly-formed cabinet as a representation of Indonesia's inclusivity.

“This cabinet symbolizes an inclusive Indonesia. We can see elements of society from various backgrounds. I believe this inclusivity is a crucial strength for our nation's progress,” he stated.

Bakrie then emphasized that the most important thing is achieving results that outweigh the costs.

However, he acknowledged the global challenges that the Prabowo-Gibran administration will have to face, ranging from the conflict in the Middle East, political uncertainty in the United States, to China’s economic slowdown—all of which are external factors that must be anticipated.

“Indonesia needs to strengthen its energy resilience and start transitioning to renewable energy. On the other hand, China’s economic slowdown presents opportunities for Indonesia through factory relocation programs and the 'China Plus One' strategy,” he added.

Regarding to the challenges, Bakrie stressed the importance of close collaboration between the business community and the government.

He also expressed his readiness to support measures that could boost investment inflows to Indonesia and improve the purchasing power of the public.
