Australian PM Anthony Albanese to Attend Inauguration of Prabowo-Gibran

Canberra, VIVA – Australian Prime Minister (PM) Anthony Albanese has confirmed his attendance at the inauguration ceremony for President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka, set to take place in Jakarta on Sunday (Oct 20).
PM Albanese stated that his presence at this significant event reflects Australia's commitment to continuing its partnership and strong relations with Indonesia.
He expressed eagerness to work closely with Prabowo and Gibran, "I look forward to the moments of close cooperation with you (Prabowo-Gibran), and I will attend your inauguration in October," as quoted from the official website of the Australian Prime Minister's Office on Oct 14.

Earlier, Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim mentioned that he had received a direct invitation from Prabowo to attend the inauguration. Anwar received this invitation during Prabowo's visit to Malaysia in early September.
The inauguration of Prabowo as President of the Republic of Indonesia will be held in Jakarta on October 20, 2024, organized by the People's Consultative Assembly in accordance with the General Election Commission's decision regarding the results of the 2024 presidential election.
