Canadian PM Trudeau Met Anindya Bakrie at APEC BAC in Peru

Peru, VIVA – The Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Advisory Council (APEC BAC), Anindya Bakrie, was personally approached by Canadian Prime Minister (PM) Justin Trudeau during the APEC meeting in Lima, Peru.

PM Trudeau approached Anindya Bakrie, and the two shook hands while engaging in a brief conversation.

As known, PM Trudeau plans to hold discussions regarding business cooperation between Canada and Indonesia under the leadership of President-elect Prabowo Subianto next month.

"My partner for the past seven years in APEC, PM Canada Trudeau, approached the Chairman of APEC BAC to schedule a meeting discussion about cooperation during Mr. President Prabowo’s era at APEC in Lima, Peru, next month," as quoted from a video received by VIVA.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie already announced that he had been appointed by the Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan to be the Head of the Indonesian Delegation at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.

"Coincidentally, Minister Hasan also assigned me to represent Indonesia in Laos for ASEAN BAC," Bakrie said in a statement on Wednesday, during a separate occasion.

Through letter number 588/M-DAG/SD/10/2024, signed by Minister Hasan on October 4, 2024, the minister also appointed Bernardino Moningka Vega and John Riady as members of the Indonesian delegation for the event.

Additionally, this letter was also copied to the ASEAN Secretary-General and the Chairman of Kadin Indonesia.
