Russia Claims US Actions Behind Rising Tensions in Middle East

Russia, VIVA – Russia issued a statement blaming the United States (US) for the rising tensions in the Middle East on Tuesday (Oct 1).
Maria Zakharova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson referred to the Biden administration’s efforts in the region as a total failure.
This criticism came amid escalating tensions following Iran’s missile strike on Israel. The attack was in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah by Israel.
Zakharova explained that the latest statements from the White House only demonstrate the US's inability to resolve the ongoing crisis.

"Day by day, we are witnessing an increasingly heated bloodshed. The statements issued by the White House are vague and merely reflect their helplessness in dealing with this issue," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram account, as quoted from Anadolu Ajansi site.
She added that the efforts made by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken have resulted in numerous casualties and a prolonged diplomatic deadlock.
The situation became even more complicated when an official Russian delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, was forced to cancel their trip to Qatar.
Chernyshenko was scheduled to participate in the 3rd Asian Cooperation Dialogue Summit, set to take place on October 2-3 in Doha.
However, due to rising tensions and the closure of airspace around Iran, their plane had to reroute. They were forced to land to refuel in the city of Mineralnye Vody, Russia.
Iran’s attack on Israel and the uncertainty surrounding the region highlight the seriousness of the situation in the Middle East. Many fear that if these tensions are not addressed soon, they could escalate into a wider conflict.
The long-standing tensions between Iran and Israel, now intensified by the involvement of major powers such as the US and Russia, have reached new heights.
Russia, through Zakharova, indicated that they will continue to monitor developments and hope for a peaceful solution to end the prolonged conflict in the region.
