Bogor, VIVA – PT Mandiri Utama Finance (MUF), a subsidiary of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, officially launched its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the MUF Soul Warteg Binaan program, at Warteg Pak Dodi in Cibinong, Bogor Regency.
This initiative aims to support small, family-owned eateries, known as warteg, by offering financial assistance and promoting their growth.
The program was launched simultaneously in four regions: Bogor, Surabaya, Rembang, and Bekasi. According to Elisabeth Lidya Sirait, Corporate Secretary & Legal Division Head of MUF, the initiative is aligned with the company's commitment to supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), which are key drivers of Indonesia’s economic recovery.
“In line with the focus of state-owned enterprises and their subsidiaries on MSME development, MUF is contributing through the MUF Soul Warteg Binaan CSR program. The goal is to improve the welfare of warteg businesses, which also supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” Elisabeth said.
She further explained that the program provides vulnerable communities access to affordable and nutritious meals, contributing to healthier living standards.
Affan Barieda, Head of MUF’s Jabodetabek I Region, emphasized the company’s commitment to MSMEs and the broader community, stating, “We hope this program can help local warteg vendors in Cibinong while also assisting low-income individuals through subsidized meals.”
He added that the program could increase warteg sales by up to 50 portions per day, compared to their usual sales of around 20 to 30 portions.
Through this initiative, MUF aims to reduce poverty by providing subsidized meals to the underprivileged, such as street vendors, motorbike drivers, and orphans.
The program works with local mosques, churches, and community organizations to distribute these benefits.
