Kadin to Focus on Supporting Prabowo Subianto's Government Era, Bakrie Says

Singapore, VIVA –The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Novyan Bakrie emphasized that his side ready to support various programs from the President-Elect, Prabowo Subianto, during his upcoming administration.
"I believe that Mr. Prabowo will focus on as President is structural reform. He will also prioritize digital infrastructure, as well as a fair and just energy transition," Bakrie said in an exclusive interview with CNBC International in Singapore, on Wednesday (Sept 18).
Additionally, Bakrie explained that the Prabowo Subianto's era aims to increase per capita GDP (Gross domestic product) for all social classes and promote value chains with much greater added value to the economy than before.
He continued by saying that the Bakrie Group and millions of other companies in Indonesia are very enthusiastic about the forthcoming Prabowo Subianto administration.
"We're looking forward to his administration, as one of its key focuses will be the downstreaming of critical minerals," he remarked.
He further explained that as a large country, Indonesia possesses essential minerals underground, such as nickel, copper, and tin, ranking among the top five in the world.
Moreover, Indonesia has the potential for up to 500 Gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy, derived from various natural resources such as geothermal, hydro, and others.
This will be driven by biodiversity, which must be protected, and which can one day be utilized to spur growth through funding for industrialization efforts.
"So, when we talk about processing nickel into battery materials to support the electrification of transportation in Indonesia, that's just one example of what we can achieve as a nation," he concluded.
