Minister Qoumas Discussed Hajj 2025 Preparations with Saudi Arabia

Jakarta, VIVA – Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas met the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq F. Al Rabiah, at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah office in Jeddah. The meeting focused on preparations for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

"Minister Yaqut met with Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq F. Al Rabiah at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah office in Jeddah. Both ministers discussed initial stages of preparations for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage," said Sunanto, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, in Jeddah on Sunday (Sept 15).

Sunanto explained that the meeting also touched on welcoming Indonesian Hajj pilgrims and providing the highest standards of service.



"During this meeting, the Saudi Arabian government continues to make improvements and build additional facilities," Sunanto stated.

"The Saudi Minister of Hajj also expressed gratitude for the cooperation established with Indonesia during the 2024 Hajj season. Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas is considered one of the ministers who has maintained excellent coordination with the Saudi authorities," he continued.

It's known that the Hajj quota for 2024 has been set for countries sending pilgrims. Indonesia has been allocated a quota of 221,000 pilgrims.

Here's the Schedule for the 2024 Hajj Season:

1. June 18, 2024 - Submission of initial preparation documents and Hajj quota - Activation of electronic guarantees - Activation of financial portfolio in E-hajj

2. September 4, 2024 - Start of preparation meetings - Start of service provider meetings (packages, accommodation, food cathering) - Selection of airlines

3. October 23, 2024 - Finalization of the preparation meetings - Start of contracts with service providers - Start of location allocation in Masayair

4. January 13, 2025 - Hajj conference and exhibition - Signing of Hajj preparation MoUs - Signing of the departure agreement (Tafwij)

5. February 14, 2025 - End of the contract signing phase

6. February 19, 2025 - Start of visa issuance

7. April 18, 2025 - End of visa issuance

8. April 29, 2025 - Start of Hajj pilgrims' arrival
