Tasikmalaya, VIVA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is confident that infrastructure development will enhance connectivity and logistics efficiency. It was said after he inaugurated several main infrastructure projects in West Java on Thursday (Aug 29).

The inaugurated infrastructure includes the replacement of 16 Callender Hamilton (CH) bridges, the Ciloseh Bridge in Tasikmalaya City, and the implementation of the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads.

"I officially inaugurate the replacement of 16 Callender Hamilton bridges, 22 road sections constructed under the Presidential Instruction on Regional Roads, and the Ciloseh Bridge in West Java Province," the head of state said at the Citanduy Bridge in Banjar City.

The President stated that the replacement of the 16 Callender Hamilton bridges, which are spread across eight regencies and cities in West Java, is the government’s effort to enhance connectivity and strengthen infrastructure in the region.

These bridges have a total length of 1,030 meters and involved an investment of IDR 1.9 trillion.

Additionally, President Jokowi also inaugurated 22 road sections spanning 121 kilometers, constructed through the Regional Road Presidential Instruction (IJD) program.

This project covers 13 regencies and cities in West Java with a budget of IDR 521 billion.

On the same occasion, Jokowi also inaugurated the Ciloseh Bridge in Tasikmalaya City, which cost IDR 112 billion.

This bridge is part of the northern ring road of Tasikmalaya City, which is expected to improve connectivity and alleviate traffic congestion within the city.

"It will enhance connectivity and accessibility to the airport and Tasik City while also addressing the traffic congestion in Tasikmalaya City," he remarked.

Moreover, he emphasized that infrastructure development and improvement in various regions serve several important purposes.

The inauguration of these various infrastructure projects is also expected to have a positive impact on West Java's economy, particularly in improving transportation efficiency and connectivity between regions.

"The infrastructure development and improvement in various regions aim to enhance connectivity, reduce logistics costs, and facilitate the movement of people and goods," the president concluded.
