Jokowi Inaugurates Margatiga Dam in Lampung, Valued at IDR 846 billion

Lampung, VIVA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Monday (August 26) inaugurated the Margatiga Dam in Lampung, which was built with a budget of IDR 846 billion.
"The dam, which cost IDR 846 billion, has a reservoir area of 2,313 hectares and a water storage capacity of 42 million cubic meters. This is enormous," the head of state said in Lampung.
President Jokowi stated that the government is currently focused on improving clean water management, which will be crucial in the coming years.
"Water is essential for our lives, for irrigating the rice fields we have. Water can also reduce flooding if the area still experiences floods," the President remarked.
Moreover, President Jokowi highlighted that administration has constructed and inaugurated 44 new dams across Indonesia since he took office in 2014.
“This is the 44th dam we have inaugurated in the past 10 years. These infrastructures serve various functions, including providing a source of electricity,” he stated.
As information, under President Jokowi's leadership, the Indonesian government aims to build a total of 61 dams.
The president has inaugurated several dams, including the Cipanas Dam in West Java, Sepaku Dam in East Kalimantan, Tiu Suntuk Dam in West Nusa Tenggara, Karian Dam in Banten, Ameroro Dam in Southeast Sulawesi, and Bolaang Mongondow Dam in North Sulawesi.
