Indonesia, Poland to Collaborate on Game Industry Development

Jakarta, VIVA – Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno met with Poland Minister of Culture and National Heritage Hanna Wróblewska to discuss best practices in Poland's game development, especially game exporters.The two met in Warsaw, Poland, on August 23, 2024.
Minister Uno stated that Poland's success in becoming the largest game exporter in Europe, especially for game products spreading Polish cultural content.
"We learn from Poland regarding the programs run by the Polish government as a benchmark for Indonesia," the minister said in a statement from his minstry on Saturday (Aug 24), as quoted from Antara site.
The Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage is responsible for preserving national heritage and promoting Polish culture.
This ministry also develops programs in the digitalization sector, especially to promote Polish culture through literature, design, visual arts, music, and film including the game industry.
Therefore, several game companies in Poland have received financial support for developing the Polish game industry by integrating cultural elements with concrete results in the games industry such as The Witcher, CyberPunk, and others, minister Uno remarked.
The minister also proposed a comparative study for a deeper understanding regarding the development of the game industry that integrates cultural elements, as well as the development of game studio capacity.
He then invited the Polish counterpart and its game industry to invest in the Indonesian game industry, especially utilizing the ICCF (Indonesia Creative Content Fund) which is currently being prepared.
"We hope Poland cares to provide support to conduct business missions to Indonesia to attend game events and business matching. Poland can also observe the development of the game industry in Indonesia or conducting training programs," he concluded.
