Jokowi Inaugurated Hasan Nasbi as Head of Presidential Communications Office

Jakarta, VIVA – Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated Hasan Nasbi as Head of the Presidential Communications Office at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Monday (Aug 18).
The inauguration was based on Presidential Decree Number 93P of 2024 on the Appointment of Head of the Presidential Communications Office.
In addition, Presidential Decree Number 94P of 2024 on the Appointment of the Head of the National Nutrition Institute was also read out by Deputy for Apparatus Administration of the Ministry of State Secretariat Nanik Purwanti.
After the Presidential Decree was read, Jokowi guided Hasan in taking the oath of office.

"I swear by Almighty God that I will be loyal to the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia of 1945, and that I will uphold all laws and regulations with the utmost integrity in service to the nation and the state. In performing the duties of my office, I will uphold the ethics of the position, work to the best of my ability, and with a strong sense of responsibility," Nasbi declared.
Hasan Nasbi is widely known as the founder of the survey institution Cyrus Network, and he is also part of the Prabowo-Gibran Campaign Team for the 2024 Presidential Election, serving as a spokesperson.
The Presidential Communications Office is a newly established institution, formed by President Jokowi in August through Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 82 of 2024 concerning the establishment of the Presidential Communications Office.
Meanwhile, Nasbi emphasized that the role of his institution is not only to address political attacks against the government but also to transparently communicate the achievements of priority programs to the public.
"This is not about countering attacks; rather, we need to provide understanding to the public, especially when there is information that constitutes disinformation," Nasbi remarked.
According to him, the office will focus on delivering clear and transparent information about what the government has achieved.
"Clearly, we must communicate the results of the government's priority programs so that the public can have a clearer and more transparent understanding of what the government is doing," he said.
Moreover, Nasbi explained that if there is any disinformation or distortion, his team will provide the correct understanding to the public regarding what the government is truly doing and achieving.
He also emphasized that his role is primarily to ensure that the public receives accurate and comprehensive information about the government's policies and achievements.
