Penajam Paser Utara, VIVA – Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Sergei Tolchenov said that Russia is ready to assist Indonesia to ensure information security in the Nusantara new capital (IKN).
“Undoubtedly, we are ready to provide assistance on this track,” Tolchenov said in an interview, as quoted by The Sundaily on Sunday (Aug 18).
Russian assistance in ensuring the information security of the new capital could be useful, given the recent massive leak of personal data of Indonesian citizens, caused by a cyberattack.
The diplomat also highlighted the potential for cooperation between Russian government agencies and private companies in protecting the personal data of Indonesian residents and developing the Nusantara's e-government.
For information, the inauguration of Indonesia's new capital city has been carried out on Saturday, August 17, 2024, coinciding with Indonesia's 79th Independence Day.
Earlier, in 2019, Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), announced the relocation of the country's capital to a forested area in East Kalimantan province to ease the burden on the already overcrowded Jakarta.
