Sheila Tiwan, CEO of Carsurin, stated that the strategic partnership between Carsurin and NBRI not only marks a step towards realizing Indonesia's vision of becoming a global hub for EV battery production but also represents a model of collaboration between the private sector and research institutions, promoting innovation and sustainability.

Russia, Vietnam Agree to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

"Carsurin and NBRI announced a Strategic Alliance Collaboration in February 2024, signifying significant progress in their cooperation to strengthen Indonesia's position in the EV industry," Tiwan said in a statement on Tuesday (July 30).

Tiwan explained that the cooperation agreement established an operational framework for the most advanced and comprehensive EV battery testing facility to meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and environmental management.

"The establishment of the EV battery testing facility is a crucial step in our journey towards a greener and more sustainable future for Indonesia," Tiwan remarked.

She ensured that Carsurin and NBRI are ready to make significant advancements in reducing carbon emissions and enhancing the country's energy security while positioning Indonesia as a key player in the global EV industry.

This comprehensive EV battery testing facility will provide extensive laboratory testing services for EV battery packs under various scenarios and conditions.

It includes drop tests, mechanical shock tests, vibration tests, overcharging protection, over-discharging protection, thermal shock and cycling tests, overheating protection, external short circuit protection, and fire resistance.

"The initial phase of EV battery testing will prioritize two-wheeled vehicle transportation modes, in line with the EV market in Indonesia," she remarked.

Similarly, NBRI Founder Prof. Evvy Kartini stated that the presence of this EV battery testing laboratory is a testament to their vision of equipping Indonesia with advanced and sustainable technology.

By combining resources and expertise, they set new standards for EV battery testing, research, and innovation.

"This strategic cooperation isn't just about laboratory services but also symbolizes Indonesia's potential and progress to drive global change in the EV industry. Together, we're moving towards a future where renewable energy and technology create a cleaner, more sustainable world for future generations," she emphasized.
