UN Encourages Youth to Drive Business Innovation Through Technology

Jakarta – The Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN) is collaborating with the United Nations (UN) to empower young talent to strengthen collaboration and accelerate business innovation through the SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals (SDGI) 2024 program.
Gita Sabharwal, the UN Resident Coordinator for Indonesia, stated that 62 percent of Indonesia's SDG indicators have reached their targets.
The achievement because of the contributions of young innovators who can significantly accelerate progress through creative solutions and new technologies.
"Their efforts will support emission reductions, green industry transformation, and inclusive growth, ultimately bridging geographic and social gaps," Sabharwal said in her speech at the 'Awarding Ceremony of SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals (SDGI) 2024' in Jakarta on Thursday (July 25).
She also expressed her joy in learning that many young people in Indonesia aspire to start their own startups or work for them.
At the same event, Josephine Satyono, Executive Director of IGCN, stated that the SDGI for Young Professionals 2024 program aims to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the empowerment and training of young professionals.
"This program involves various stakeholders from the private sector, government, academia, and civil society to ensure a holistic and comprehensive approach to achieving the SDG targets," Satyono explained.
As information, the SDGI program provides an opportunity for companies that are members of the UN Global Compact to empower young talent.
