Jokowi Released Indonesian Contingent for 2024 Paris Olympics

Jakarta – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Wednesday (July 10) released Indonesian contingent to fight in the 2024 Paris Olympics at the Istana Merdeka, Jakarta.
The head of state expressed optimism that the Indonesian contingent would make the nation proud by excelling and clinching medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
"The nation is eager to see the Indonesian flag flying at the Olympics, the Indonesia Raya anthem playing at the Olympics, and you bringing home medals," he told Indonesian athletes during the send-off of Team Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, as quoted Antara site.
President Jokowi called on the contingent, comprising 29 athletes, to be optimistic and compete with all their might to deliver their best performance even against the fiercest opponents from various countries.
Moreover, the President touted the athletes, calling them the chosen ones who have earned a place to represent Indonesia at the world's most prestigious sporting event.
"People from across the globe will set their eyes on you all. The Indonesian nation will pin myriad hopes on you, our athletes," he remarked.
The head of state then reminded all athletes to make the finest physical and mental preparation, with the goal of bagging medals.
Earlier, Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotedjo stated that at the upcoming Olympics, Indonesia will be represented by 16 male athletes and 13 female athletes who will vie for medals in 12 sports, such as badminton, wall climbing, aquatics, gymnastics, and judo.
As information, the 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris, France, from July 26 to August 11.
