Ministry Ensures OSS System Service Safe from Ransomware Attacks

Jakarta – The Ministry of Investment/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) ensured that business licensing services through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system remain secure for serving business activities.
This statement was made following reports of a ransomware attack on the National Data Center (PDN) some time ago, which impacted various systems used by several government agencies.
Tina Talisa as Special Staff of Ministry stated that the ministry conducted regular evaluations of public services, such as the OSS system and the contact center.
"Nevertheless, the Ministry of Investment/BKPM remains vigilant and monitors potential disruptions," Talisa said in a statement on Monday (July 1).
Talisa emphasized that services within the Ministry remain well-maintained, particularly the OSS, which directly interacts with business actors.
"In the Investment Ministry conduct regular monitoring and checks to ensure that the licensing process and the services provided to business actors remain optimal. However, we continue to stay vigilant for any disruptions to the ongoing systems," she remarked.
She also explained that, based on observations since the PDN disturbance, the issuance process for Business Identification Numbers (NIB) through the OSS system has been running normally.
So far, the Ministry's contact center has not recorded any complaints from business actors regarding the licensing process in the OSS system.
"OSS services have been running normally from last week until now. But the team remains on guard to ensure there are no disruptions that may occur in the future," she said.
As information, based on data from the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, from January 1 to June 30, 2024, a total of 2,404,297 NIBs were issued through the OSS system, with an average issuance of 13,210 per day
