Jakarta – The Indonesian and Albanian governments strengthen cooperation in the employment sector through the signing of a letter of intent (LoI) in Jakarta on Friday (June 28).

The LoI to strengthen Indonesia and Albania's capacities in several employment fields was signed by the Manpower Ministry's secretary general, Anwar Sanusi, and Albanian Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Olta Manjani.

"This reflects our joint commitment to develop further and strengthen friendly bilateral cooperation and encourage safe and orderly migration flows, as well as upholding the principles of equality, mutual benefit, and mutual respect," Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah said in a statement as quoted from Antara site.

The minister explained that the cooperation in the employment sector would cover labor norms and standards, social security systems, vocational training, employment for the younger generation, labor market improvement, social protection for migrant workers, and human trafficking eradication.

According to Minister Fauziyah, the agreement represents joint aspirations and commitment to building a better life for the community.

The minister said that the cooperation will create opportunities in keeping with the principles of equality that uphold mutual benefit and respect.

Minister Fauziyah further said that even though the LoI is not legally binding, the agreement reflects the strong commitment of Indonesia and Albania to explore and develop a special arrangement that will bring real benefits to both countries.

"I am confident that this Letter of Intent will not only benefit our workforce but also contribute to the development and prosperity of Indonesia and Albania as a whole," she concluded.
