Jakarta – Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia, also known as InJourney, reported a net profit of IDR 1.1 trillion for 2023, marking a 211 percent year-on-year (yoy) increase.
"Amidst an economy facing various challenges, InJourney managed to turn the situation around with a net profit achievement of up to IDR 1.1 trillion," said InJourney CEO, Dony Oskaria, in a statement on Wednesday (June 26).
Additionally, EBITDA was reported to have reached IDR 8.82 trillion, a 73 percent increase from the previous year's IDR 5.1 trillion.
According to Oskaria, this was due to the recovery of the national tourism industry after being hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moreover, operating revenues in 2023 were recorded at IDR 23.3 trillion, an increase of 47 percent compared to IDR 15.8 trillion in 2022.
Oskaria assured that InJourney's health level in 2023 was also in the AAA category, or very healthy, with significantly improved financial ratios.
This can be seen, for example, from the operating expense to operational cost (BOPO) ratio, which dropped by 16 percent.
"InJourney's financial ratios are becoming healthier, and going forward, we will continue to strive to make InJourney a healthy, efficient, and profitable state-owned enterprise, with accountability," he explained.
As information, InJourney has also launched two sub-holdings in the aviation industry, namely InJourney Airports and InJourney Aviation Services.
This is a transformation step in the aviation and airport industries in Indonesia.
InJourney Airports is targeted to handle up to 172 million passengers per year and will rank 5th on the list of the world's largest airport operators, surpassing Vinci Airports (France) and GMR Group (India).
The establishment of these sub-holdings also positively impacts the increase in GDP from the tourism sector, from the previous 5 percent to 10 percent.
