Jakarta – Amid intense global competition, Toyota's success serves as an inspiration for Indonesia's automotive industry to continually enhance production quality and efficiency standards.
It can be proof by a dominance in exporting Indonesian-made cars from January to May 2024, according to the latest data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo).
During this period, Toyota Indonesia successfully exported 65,708 units, surpassing Daihatsu, which recorded exports of 44,109 units.
This achievement marks a significant contribution by the Japanese automotive manufacturer to Indonesia's automotive exports, a crucial sector in the nation's economy.
Mitsubishi Motors and Hyundai followed with export figures of 30,132 units and 22,880 units, respectively, highlighting Toyota's dominant position in the national car export market.
Toyota's car production in Indonesia not only serves the large domestic market but also supports expansion into overseas markets, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
This demonstrates that Toyota-made cars can compete in terms of quality, technology, and price competitiveness on a global scale.
