Chinese Automaker GAC Aion Expands in Indonesia with an Electric SUV

Jakarta – Chinese electric car maker, GAC Aion, officially entered the Indonesian market with an electric SUV Aion Y Plus – under the auspices of Indomobil Energi Baru.
Louis Liu as Chief Operating Operation (COO) of GAC Aion Indonesia said that the presence of Aion Y Plus is to show its commitment in the country in providing attractive technology electric cars.
"We officially launched the Aion Y Plus electric car in Indonesia which has advantages to fulfill needs of Indonesian consumers," he said at the Fairmont Hotel, Senayan, South Jakarta.
Liu said that his company ready to bring at least three products to the Indonesian market every year.

"Going forward, we will launch at least three products to the market every year to meet the diverse needs of local consumers," he added.
On the same occasion, Chief Executive Officer of Indomobil Energi Baru, Andry Ciu explained the advantages of the Aion Y Plus electric car.
"Aion Y Plus has a spacious cabin space, a long mileage and technologically advanced features," Ciu explained.
As information, the Aion Y Plus comes with two variants, namely Premium and Exclusive. Both use an electric motor with 201 hp and 225 Nm of torque.
However, there is a difference in battery capacity. The exclusive variant uses a lithium ferro-phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 50.6 kWh with a maximum mileage of 410 km.
Meanwhile, the premium variant uses the same type of battery with a larger capacity of 63.2 kWh with a range of 490 km.
Furthermore, the Aion Y Plus is equipped with the i-pedal Single Pedal feature that can make the car produce acceleration and deceleration in one stroke.
Other features include CCS2 type spark plugs, keyless start, new intelligent voice control, 360° panoramic view and ADAS level 2.
This electric car is sold with seven color variants, namely vitality green, rose gold, elegant gray, pure white and glamour black.
Then the two tone color variant is vitality green with a black roof and pure white with a black roof.
Regarding price, the exclusive Aion Y Plus is IDR 415 million. While the premium one is IDR 475 million. Both are on the road Jakarta.
