"Regarding the vast potential of solar energy we possess, which is 3000 GW and the significant demand from neighboring countries like Singapore, amounting to 11 GW by 2035, I urge Chinese solar energy makers and their supply chain to establish factories in Indonesia," wrote the minister through his official Instagram account on Tuesday (June 18).

They also discussed a proposal for trilateral cooperation agreed upon during the fourth Indonesia-China High Level Dialogue and Cooperation Mechanism (HDCM) meeting held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) in April 2024.

The minister also emphasized two important steps in efforts to enhance Indonesia-China cooperation.

The first is the formation of a task force to promote cooperation in food security and health.

The second involves three areas of cooperation: green development, digital development, and public welfare, aimed at implementing various G2G MoUs signed in 2023 in the fields of digital economy cooperation, energy transition, and downstream industry.

"I also conveyed that Chinese companies collaborating with Indonesia in green energy investments, particularly the nickel-based battery industry, should utilize nickel production in Indonesia," Minister Pandjaitan remarked.

Moreover, the minister also requested China's assistance to help Indonesia improve air quality by providing technical assistance to reduce pollution from coal-fired power plants.

He added that in 2025, Indonesia and China will celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations.

It's hoped that both countries can continue to support each other and achieve mutual prosperity together.

"Like two bamboo stalks growing side by side and then reaching for the sky, the comprehensive strategic partnership model we've built together so far becomes a model of shared destiny to achieve future for other developing countries," he concluded.
