However, not everyone has the opportunity to perform these pilgrimages due to various obstacles, such as financial constraints, health issues, or other conditions.

Islam, in its vast mercy, provides various deeds whose rewards are equivalent to those of Hajj and Umrah. So, here are six practices which equivalent to Hajj and Umrah:

1. Ishraq Prayer

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: "Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun rises, and then prays two rak'ahs, will receive a reward equivalent to that of Hajj and Umrah, complete, complete, complete." (HR. Tirmidhi)

Ishraq prayer is a two-rak'ah sunnah prayer performed after the sun has risen. The virtue of this deed is receiving a reward akin to performing a perfect Hajj and Umrah.

2. Walking to the Mosque for Prayer

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: "Whoever leaves his house in a state of purity to perform a fard prayer, his reward is like that of a pilgrim in the state of ihram." (HR. Abu Dawud)

Walking to the mosque with sincere intention and in a state of purity to perform congregational prayer carries immense rewards, equivalent to performing Hajj.

3. Duha Prayer

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: "Whoever prays Duha with twelve rak'ahs, Allah will build for him a palace in Paradise." (HR. Tirmidhi)

Although it is not directly mentioned in the hadith that Duha prayer is equivalent to Hajj and Umrah, the promised reward is substantial, and some scholars mention that its virtue approaches the reward of Hajj and Umrah.

4. Attending Knowledge Gatherings

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: "Whoever goes to the mosque only to learn or teach goodness, he will have a reward like that of a person who performs Hajj perfectly." (HR. Tabarani)

Attending gatherings of knowledge, whether as a student or a teacher, earns great rewards, equivalent to completing Hajj.

5. Being Dutiful to Parents

In a hadith, it is mentioned that being dutiful to one’s parents carries immense rewards. From the companion Anas, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) advised someone to be dutiful to his mother. "He said: You are like one performing Hajj, Umrah, and striving in the way of Allah."

6. Umrah in the Month of Ramadan

The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said: "Umrah in the month of Ramadan is equivalent to Hajj with me." (HR. Bukhari)

Although this refers to Umrah performed specifically during Ramadan, the timing grants a reward equivalent to performing Hajj with the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Islam is a religion filled with ease and mercy. For those who do not have the opportunity to perform Hajj and Umrah, there are many other deeds that offer equivalent rewards.

From the Ishraq prayer, walking to the mosque, Duha prayer, attending knowledge gatherings, to being dutiful to parents, all provide substantial rewards.

By performing these deeds with sincerity and consistency, Muslims can, insha'Allah, achieve rewards equivalent to Hajj and Umrah, even if they have not had the chance to perform them directly.
