Africa – Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto stated that several countries in Africa view Indonesia as a nation successfully implementing national policies and global diplomacy.
Then, Indonesia is considered worthy of being a role model among developing countries. Minister Subianto knew it during his working visit to a high-level conference in Amman, Jordan last Tuesday.
"The important thing is, Africa is now looking toward us," Minister Prabowo Subianto said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (June 13).
In a high-level conference, Prabowo Subianto met with Mozambique President Felipe Nyusi and Rwanda President Paul Kagame.
"They view us. They see Indonesia as a role model of a successful developing countrym a southern country," the minister remarked.
Prabowo Subianto remarked that the Heads of State were interested in Indonesia's policies in responding to various social issues.
In terms of diplomacy at the Jordan conference, Minister Subianto said Indonesia had made concrete commitments to respond to the humanitarian situation in Gaza, Palestine.
"I believe Indonesia was the most concrete in this conference. We were ready to take in 1,000 patients as a first step, we were ready to accept 1,000 traumatized children to be educated in Indonesia," the Minister informed.
He added that such practices had sparked interest from many countries, especially Rwanda and Mozambique, which now intend to adopt Indonesia's government policies.
"So, they have invited me to seek Indonesia's support, ask for Indonesia's assistance, and request education in Indonesia," the Minister concluded.
