Porsche 911 Starts Its Hybrid Era

Jakarta – German automotive manufacturer, Porsche officially revealed the 911 with Hybrid technology. The company implemented it into the Carrera and Carrera GTS variants.
With the relaunch of its iconic model, Porsche has expanded several of its model lines in just a few months, such as the Panamera, Taycan, Macan, and 911 variants.
“Our product portfolio is more modern than ever and very exciting. Our products will offer customers more choices and an exclusive driving experience,” said Oliver Blume as CEO of Porsche in an official statement.
This latest version of the Porsche 911 provides a much more exciting driving experience with super lightweight performance.
In terms of exterior, Porsche has simplified the 911 design with more sporty targeted updates.
The changes include new bumpers, the presence of LED matrix headlights as standard with the distinctive four-dot signature of Porsche.
The German manufacturer also offers an option package with HD LED matrix headlamps with more than 32,000 lighting points, capable of illuminating the road to a distance of more than 600 meters.
In addition, featuring the latest T-Hybrid system, the sports car also comes with an updated design, improved aerodynamics and a more elegant interior.
The lightweight and powerful T-Hybrid system is equipped with an updated electric exhaust turbocharger.
Its electric motor is placed between the compressor and the turbine wheel, instantly increasing the turbocharger speed.
In addition, for the new 911 Carrera GTS model, Porsche engineers used the knowledge gained from motorsport as the basis for designing the hybrid system.
Frank Moser, Vice President Model Lines 911 and 718, said that they developed and tested various ideas to come up with a hybrid system that suits the 911.
“The result is a unique drive that fits the overall concept of the 911 and significantly improves its performance,” he explained, in the same official statement.
In terms of performance, the Porsche 911 hybrid uses the latest 3.6-liter boxer engine, which is combined with the T-Hybrid system and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission system.
This configuration makes the car capable of producing 541 hp and 610 Nm of torque for the GTS type.
Meanwhile, the Carrera variant features a 3.0-liter engine combined with a twin-turbocharger engine capable of producing 394 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
