Jakarta – Chinese automotive manufacturer Chery has announced a recall for Omoda 5 units in the Indonesian market.
Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) as the Brand Holder Agent in Indonesia has received the results of an in-depth investigation from Chery International on the rear axle sleeve component vendor, which was affected by an update to the manufacturing facility at a certain time.
As reported from Chery's official statement, the company has identified 420 Omoda 5 1.5T (Z and RZ) units that are potentially affected by the recall in Indonesia.
The 420 affected units were identified based on the vehicle frame number. If from the inspection results, it is found that there is a potential problem, spare parts will be replaced at no charge.
“We make sure this only applies to 420 units of Omoda 5 1.5 T (Z and RZ) and this problem has no impact on other Chery products,” the company claims.
For consumers affected by this component damage, they can immediately conduct an inspection at the nearest Chery dealership.
