Jakarta – Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) reported an increase passengers on the Whoosh fast train during the Ascension of Jesus Christ holidays. This increase has occurred since Wednesday (May 8).
Eva Chairunisa as General Manager of KCIC's Corporate Secretary said that during this period Whoosh fast train passengers experienced a 28 percent increase compared to Tuesday (May 7).
“KCIC has anticipated the increase in passenger numbers by operating as many as 48 Whoosh trips per day,” Chairunisa said in a statement, Thursday.
For departure on May 9 until 11 a.m. local time, as many as 16 thousand tickets have been sold.
This number is predicted to continue to grow, considering that ticket sales until the departure of the last train at 8.30 p.m. are still ongoing.
“Passengers are predicted to reach 20,000,” Chairunisa added.
She further explained, there are a number of favorite schedules whose occupancy has reached 100 percent, especially on the train departure schedule at 6.40 a.m. to 3.35 p.m. local time from Halim Station to Padalarang and Tegalluar.
“The majority of passengers departing from Halim get off at Padalarang Station, and continue their journey by Feeder Train to Bandung Station,” Chairunisa remarked.
She continued, KCIC has also prepared post officers and Mobile Customer Service at various points, to assist services amid the increase in passenger numbers.
“KCIC predicts the number of passengers will remain high on this weekend holiday. All officers have prepared and will provide the best service to the people who will use Whoosh at this special moment,” Chairunisa concluded.
