Bank Indonesia and PP ASKI Hold Karate National Seminar

Jakarta, May 6, 2024 – In an effort to enhance the performance of Indonesian karate athletes and cultivate self-reliant individuals, Bank Indonesia collaborated with the Central Management of the Indonesian Karate Martial Arts Academy (PP ASKI) to host a Karate National Seminar on May 5, 2024, at Bank Indonesia.
The event was attended by approximately 150 Shotokan karate practitioners, as well as Bank Indonesia and PP ASKI officials.
The seminar featured two speakers, namely Seizo Izumiya Shihan, JKA World Federation Coach and ASKI Master Instructor (Karate School member of JKA World Federation).
Quoted from VIVA English based on an official statement, Seizo Izumiya Shihan delivered material on basic karate techniques and the importance of mastering techniques in developing individual character.
Meanwhile, the ASKI Master Instructor presented material on ethics and moral values in karate, as well as how karate can be applied in daily life and the workplace.
This seminar is one of Bank Indonesia's efforts to support the development of sports in Indonesia. Karate is considered one of the sports that can help build self-reliant and disciplined individual character.
The values of karate such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and perseverance are also expected to be applied by participants in their daily lives and work.
In her remarks, Head of the Asset and Facilities Services Department of BI, Erna Wijayanti, emphasized that this karate training aims to build self-reliant individual character and create synergy among dojo and karate clubs. She also believes that there is a positive relationship between talent development and performance.
This seminar is expected to help participants understand the importance of character development and the formation of synergy through karate sport, as well as being able to apply karate values in their daily lives and work.
