"We will also follow up on cooperation opportunities through a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between BPJPH and the Islamic Center of Uruguay, preceded by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both countries, planned to be held in August 2024," she said through the BPJH statement on Saturday (April 20).

Meanwhile, the Head of BPJPH, Muhammad Aqil Irham, expressed his appreciation to the Government of Uruguay for its commitment as one of the Latin American countries seriously concerned about Halal Product Assurance (JPH).

"We appreciate every friendly country that visits our office. This indicates that global attention to Mandatory Halal this October is very high, especially for Latin American countries," Irham expressed.

He also hoped the discussion on the synergy of Halal Product Assurance between Indonesia and Uruguay could be promptly followed up.

This includes discussions on the MoU on JPH between the two countries and the accreditation process of Foreign Halal Institutions (LHLN) in Uruguay.
