Police Record 301 Traffic Accidents on Eid Homecoming Exodus

Jakarta – The National Police (Polri) recorded 301 traffic accidents in several Indonesian regions during the 2024 Eid homecoming exodus.
"Data on traffic accidents until Tuesday (Apr 9), there were 301 incidents," said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police Commissioner Harry Goldenhardt in a statement, on Wednesday.
Of the total accidents, 26 people were reported dead. Meanwhile, 430 people were injured, consisting of 386 minor injuries and 44 serious injuries.
Goldenhardt informed the accidents resulted in material losses of IDR 659 million.
In addition to the number of accidents, he also stated his office recorded traffic violations that occurred during the Eid homecoming flow, there were 21,983 violations.
"With details of 21,279 in the form of warnings, and 704 ETLE tickets," he remarked.
Goldenhardt appealed to all people traveling homecoming not to rest on the shoulder of the toll road when tired. Because it will endanger yourself, as well as others and hinder travel for other prospective travelers.
"So, be disciplined and obey all traffic rules and regulations because safety is the most important thing to get to your destination," he concluded.
