VKTR and Gapura Angkasa Launch Electric Bus for Soekarno-Hatta Airport

Banten – VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas (VKTR) and Gapura Angkasa announced the use of electric apron passenger buses and chargers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, Banten, as a significant step towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving operational efficiency.
"Collaboration with Gapura Angkasa is not only shows confidence in our technology, but also our shared vision for a greener and more sustainable transportation future," VKTR CEO Gilarsi W Setijono said in a statement on Monday.
Setijono said this initiative isn't just about adopting advanced technology, but also about demonstrating both companies' strong commitment to sustainable practices and green mobility.

VKTR, as a pioneer of commercial vehicle electrification in Indonesia, has been selected by Gapura Angkasa, a leading ground handling service provider, to introduce efficient transportation solutions with minimal environmental impact.
This partnership marks an important milestone in the utilization of electric vehicles for airport operations in Indonesia, supporting the national ambition to achieve zero emissions by 2060.
Under the agreement, Gapura Angkasa appointed VKTR to provide one unit of electric apron passenger bus and charger, which will be delivered to the operational site at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng.
With the provision of 60 units of electric buses by VKTR from June 2022 to April 2024, a saving of 1.8 million liters of diesel fuel has been achieved, equivalent to a reduction of more than five million kilograms of CO2.
This initiative is a concrete step towards significantly reducing the carbon footprint that can be adopted by Soekarno-Hatta Airport and other airports across Indonesia as a clear example of the positive impact of transportation electrification on the environment.
In addition, the increase in eco-friendly vehicles can also reflect Gapura Angkasa's commitment to sustainable practices in the provision of their ground handling services.
